At Woodland Playhouse, we believe in play. Our teachers work together to create a warm, welcoming, comfortable environment that allows children the space and opportunities to grow, learn, and thrive. In this space, children find themselves on the path to becoming independent, compassionate, self-confident individuals. Experiential exploration and both free and guided play plant the seeds for healthy learning. We devote our days to allowing children to experience the magic of their own imaginations and lay the foundation for later academic success. We prioritize time outdoors every day, in all types of weather, for the mental and physical health and well-being of all children and staff at Woodland Playhouse.

Woodland Playhouse was established in 2007. We are a small center preschool licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services and a certificated Universal Pre-Kindergarten provider through the Onteora Central School District. In addition, our summer camps are licensed through Ulster County.
What's happening at Woodland Playhouse?With our 2025-2026 school year well underway, we have settled into our rhythms and routines with our youngest friends. We have a single opening left in our grizzly bear classroom for the remainder of the school year for children aged 2 years 9 months through five.
Our summer camp enrollment becomes available on our website at 9am on February 1, 2026. Some of our camps fill up quickly, so keep your eyes peeled!
And, we've worked to expand our after school programming for school aged children this school year. This winter we are offering Board Game Group and Lego Club on Wednesdays and Thursdays respectively. Check out our fliers and details below!
